#fatjared say...Sometimes being a BBQ snob is a bad thing. This is a fun place. I definitely suggest going here. You'll be happy, taken care of, and leave full, but I can't give 5 stars. It's not exceptional enough to warrant that.I have a FIRM rule, and again, sometimes to my dismay, as I have stuck to my guns and given people 4 stars when most would give 5, but I have to stick to it. If I have ANY complaints I can't give 5 stars, because that means it's not perfect. That being said, I will talk about the small complaints I have to knock this place down, and then go into the really really good that they have!A couple of small complaints are that the mustad slaw was really not that great and too liquidy. The chicken, while having a good flavor was dry for me, and I know chicken is hard to keep moist, but it can be done. Also, the mac and cheese had no character at all. It's the same mac and cheese you can get anywhere. Everything I ate was good, and I would order most of them again, but those are some small things that they can be better on.That being said, the ribs were FIRE. Holy crap. Grat seasoning on top, enough sauce to taste, but not too much to hide the flavor of the meat. The turkey, another very difficult meat to keep moist, was exactly that. Great flavor, good and juicy, tender, and a great seasoned piece. The portions, as you can see from the picture, are plenty. Very reasonably priced, and with the platter that we ordered it easily fed 3 and all were satisfied. They are doing a good job of spacing in these crazy times, but not making a huge a deal. The people working there are nice, and they go a bit above and beyond if you ask for something. Overall, This place is over 4 stars. 4.7 for sure. But as a BBQ snob, and as someone who can't give 5 stars with any complaints, I can't give a perfect rating. I do highly suggest going here and giving it a try though. Right downtown. You won't be disappointed.

306 BBQ has been a BBQ joint I have seen on several lists of best BBQ in Alabama.  I live down nowhere close to Florence and have never been thrown Florence.  However, on a recent trip, fate smiled on me.  The hype is real for 306 BBQ.  The location is downtown Florence near Rosie's Cantina.  You will have to park on the street.  The decor is modern, lots of open space, TVs on the wall, and a bar area. There are also so many BBQ/cheesy signs all over the wall that only made me giggle. You order at the counter.  The drink station is to the left of the counter and if there is one complaint about 306, it would be to put the drink station elsewhere.  With people standing in line to order, there was just too many people in one area.  The girl behind the counter though was very helpful in helping me make my life-changing decision hahaI went with the 3 meat combo that had ribs, brisket, pulled pork, potato salad, mac and cheese, and squash casserole.  Starting with the ribs, these ribs were perfection.  I do not know the term of the type of rib but basically, all the rib meat was on top of the small bone.  The meat was fall off the bone tender, juicy, and with a nice rub.  If I had to order one meat, the ribs would be my choice.  The pulled pork was also about perfect. I would describe the pork as tender, juicy, and mixed well with the sauces.  The brisket was good but I have had better brisket.  The brisket was sliced with a good rub.  On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate the brisket a 7.5 to 8, the pulled pork a 9.5, and the ribs a 10.306 definitely has the most important objects of BBQ down...the meat.  The sides were good.  The potato salad was a chunky red potato in a light mayo concoction.  Mac and cheese was cheesy (duh, it's sad that I have been to other places that do not understand that concept) and good but not memorable.  The best side hands down was the squash casserole.  The squash was buttery, mixed with a cheesy goodness, with a crunch on top of crackers.  It's a shame that it is only served on specific days. And I would not forget about the sauces! There are 3: regular, white, and hot.  Regular is a ketchup base that is tangy and with a hint of sweetness.  The white is a black pepper mayo base.  I believe I liked it the best.  The hot tasted just like Tabasco Chipotle.  I like spicy but don't underestimate the hot.  It is not for the faint of tastebuds.Sweet tea was refreshingly brewed sweet! The girl at the counter also talked me into trying their chocolate mousse.  It was a cool whippy, chocolatey pudding.  And I enjoyed every moment of it.The best part of 306 though is the value! I received 3 meats and 3 sides for approximately $19.  I went to a place the week before in Atlanta, paid $19, was given 2 meats and 2 sides, and not given much meat.  You are going to get fed here! And I love it!  306 is must try for BBQ in Alabama.

1st meal in Alabama and it did NOT disappoint! Alabama slammer was great! Pulled pork was AMAZING! Brisket was so tender and delicious. Ribs were so tender and yummy smothered in BBQ. Hot food fast, just the way I like it. Mac & Cheese was eh, but everything else made up for it.

306 BBQ catered our event for 300+ last night and I had a chance to enjoy a great meal! Well organized and managed, never running out of the serving dishes, etc. The items remembered the most was the brisket, Mac & Cheese, and apple crisp. An enjoyable evening!

306 BBQ came highly recommended, so when we got a date night out, my hubby and I were ready to give it a try! The food was excellent, and the staff was very kind and courteous even though they were very busy! We will definitely be back!

"I like Pig Butts and I can not lie!" I remember 306 BBQ from a previous trip and built a return visit into our itinerary for our group. BBQ worth the trip. Great ribs, pulled pork, brisket and more. The sides are equally great. Nice selection. Great sweet and unsweetened tea. Our entire group loved the filling lunch. TRY IT.
