We from Louisiana and the Yakamein isn’t Yakamein. The meat in it was good but the broth was sweet. I understand it was their take on it ,but it was too sweet and not Yakamein. The gumbo as well did not taste like gumbo. We couldn’t eat and our little one wouldn’t eat it. Roux was too oily and dark. The only good items was the boudin egg rolls and the beignets. Sadly we spent $130 and it truly missed the mark. Plus my food was just sitting out for anyone to grab and my husband had to get it and our other food Yakamein was sitting out at the check out getting cold while the order was being prepared. My first initial review was lengthy but I try to make this quick and to the point. If you want more detailed just like the comment. My food was cold but my husband switch his food with mines so I could have hot food. The meat should definitely stand alone but that broth is not it. It’s very sweet and savory like teriyaki. You have to be careful when making it especially if putting any sweetener in it. Well overpriced for the quality and Louisiana theme.

Amazing creole dishes, ordered the gumbo, po boy, fish, shrimp and sides. I haven't tried anything bad yet, everything seems fresh and they make it to order. Highlight of the meal is the shrimp, fried big and juicy. I can't wait to try the shrimp & grits next time

This place was outstanding. We had to wait a little while, but it was well worth the wait. It’s conveniently located near Jones Hall so you can dine, experience a New Orleans meal before catching your show.

Everything about this place is OUTSTANDING! Delicious food, extremely friendly and catering staff and very accommodating! We were dining with our two year old and he is a wild one but not a negative word was spoken to us about him, in fact, they made him more included and answered all of his questions just as they did ours (no matter how many times he asked them). The food items we tried were a part of their breakfast menu that is not yet posted. Kid-friendliness: Absolutely kid friendly! They loved our toddlersaraus

Felt like I was in New Orleans, some of the best food I've had in Houston.

Awesome place to get awesome food. Love their ox tails. The vendor has some cool stuff up for sale. Good place for vegetarian dishes as well, all you need to do is ask and they will accommodate you. Dietary restrictions: You have to tell them in advance that you are a vegetarian.

Literally the best bread pudding I’ve had in my entire life. No exaggeration. I got the sweet potato bread pudding to go and didn’t try it until I got back to work and OH… MY… GOODNESS… 1. Let this be your sign to check this place out. Absolutely amazing. My friend ordered the Oxtail Yakamein and I am still kicking myself for not ordering it as well. I made the mistake of only getting the bread pudding and ordering my food from a different restaurant. So silly of me. 2. GET. THE. BREAD. PUDDING! I can’t wait to go back to try rest of the menu. The chef is awesome and makes everything from scratch and you can definitely tell. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Thank you for an awesome meal and experience.
