We were there for an early happy hour in which the inside of the restaurant was almost completely empty. We asked to move to a table closer to the window and the hostess replied “the thing is, you’ve already ordered and it’d be too difficult to move the checks over because that section is a different server.” And then we proceeded to watch our same server work that entire section as people were sat. Our server and the drinks were amazing, but we felt a little dejected by the host experience and being lied to.
California-Style vibes and amazing food in the UWS! They’re known for their tacos and tequila, and Playa has recently launched a brand new brunch menu and we were one of the first to give it a try! Think guac and chips, Short Rib enchiladas, French toast a more deliciousness!! Feels like we’re right back at Venice beach ️ Also def recommend the Betty’s Rita and Caipirinha
Bright colors, reggae music, plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor, social and inviting. Be sure to come in for brunch on the weekend in the Upper West Side to get a tasty: - Caipirinha or Betty's Rita (margarita) ✅ - Short-Rib Enchiladas ✅ - French Toast ✅ - Birria grilled cheese ✅ My wife and I enjoyed our time here and thought the service was great, very attentive.
Amazing food, service, and vibes here! Joshua and Jeanice were incredible! Highly recommend for brunch
Awesome food and great vibes here! Would definitely come back. Joshua and Janice gave great service, made eating here a wonderful experience!
It’s a cool place and great drink spot, but the menu is pretty boring and food is just okay. If they revamp the menu and improved the food I’d go back. Service and atmosphere are great though
Loud but great food and service. Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly - they are ready with crayons!
Food was really enjoyable and came out super fast! Great place!
It’s hard to find a legitimately good taco spot on the East Coast. I think Playa Betty’s might just be it! The atmosphere is kitschy in the best possible way—very intentionally a beach-y CA taco shack (think Santa Cruz) dropped into the UWS! Loved the experience and it’s literally 2 min away from the Beacon and above a comedy club so it’s the perfect spot to go to dinner before a show.
