Jerk Shack

Sadly, this turned from a bustling Caribbean pub & restaurant into a sterile looking fast food outlet with the ambience of a butchery. I walked miles to get there on a Tuesday, just to learn they only have Chicken Wings on Tuesdays - this should be clearly stated on the website. The Chicken Wings were actually very tasty, but not what I came here for. In 2022 this was my absolute favorite in Seattle, my 2024 re-visit was a huge disappointment.

Everything has great flavors amazing taste to the meats. The rice and beans is dryer than sandpaper, the shredded cabbage is about the same dryness. I got the jerk ribs plate. Unfortunate for really amazing meats. Service was quick, not a lot of seating. I originally saw this place on IG and wanted to try the Ox Tail. The portions looked amazing, with the ribs you get 3 ribs, it’s barely a taste.

The rice and pea was sweet for some reason. And the chicken was good but it's not jerk chicken. Idk what to call it.

Hands down best food I’ve ever had! Chicken and salmon is my favorite you have to get the plate. Such unique flavors, it will have you wanting more !

Tried this place twice now. Haven’t been impressed. There’s way too much season on the ribs I got. I will say that the bone in jerk chicken is very good. But the sides aren’t great. The rice is extremely bland. The slaw is bitter. The plantains are very good as well. Idk just not the best overall value when you consider the price. I’ll still come back and try the burrito or something else and give it one more shot. And idk how I feel about having to yell back and forth with the cashier over the massive speaker blasting music.
