Can Font - Spanish Restaurant & Tapas

What a beautiful space and in a great location with Tanner Springs Park right outside the doors. We enjoyed our experience here for Sunday brunch with our little group of 5. The French toast was the best we have ever had! Attentive customer service from the staff and Vladimir (the Owner) was genuinely welcoming and exuded a warm level of hospitality :) Thank you for your kindness! Will be recommending this place to everyone we know and definitely plan to come back for a dinner service!

This was a great restaurant which had both tapas and regular entrees. Both foods and drinks seemed very creative. We tried the heirloom tomato with ricotta cheese. You'd think a variation of italian caprese, but so much more with basil pesto and balsamic vinegar. This was a wonderful combination of flavors. We also tried the King Salmon Paella which came with clams and such a superb rice, absolutely loved the crunchy bottom. And yes the Basque cheesecake was perfect and not overly sweet with just a hint of sour. Finally, the service was great and we will back on our next visit to town. Thank you.

My girlfriend and I were in Portland visiting my mom, and we ended up eating here the night before we left. We were lucky to find such an amazing restaurant! It was the perfect meal to end our trip on, the food was delicious, our waitress was totally on top of everything even though they were shortstaffed, and the manager was super nice, even offering to take our picture. Looking forward to coming again.

Just wonderful, attention, food, menu, everything. They have the best beef, lamb, fish and bread of the city Is a 5 stars experience

Paella Negra was a bit more cooked than i would have liked but the taste was pretty good. I would say I probably enjoyed some of the appetizers more. Service was quick and efficient, but our server could have been a bit more friendly. The croquetas de congrejo, ceviche, serrano ham and the steak bites were all perfect. I will come back but maybe try something besides the paella. Others enjoyed the lamb and the steak very much.

Family dinner .. sharing sizes on the appetizers.. really nice because we all enjoyed samples of the various tapas we ordered. The fried smelt was so delicious. Also, the papas bravas were so good I wanted a bowl for myself ;) Very good wine selection. I think the main dishes are pricey. I ordered seafood paella which was loaded with delicious sea food. A little oily for my taste but everyone else seemed pleased with their choices. Very comfortable atmosphere. Our server was very nice and the kitchen efficient. I hope you have a good time at Can-Font.. we certainly did!

Unfortunately, the food was underwhelming and disappointing. We ordered starters, as well as entrées. They lacked flavor. The manager was dressed like a 14 year old. I'm sorry, I don't believe the term "Keep Portland Weird" fits with this type of establishment, nor did we want it to for the evening. In my humble opinion, he should have dressed the part and presented himself in a professional manner. However, once we encountered him, his dress attire very much aligned with his incredibly condescending and unprofessional behavior. He was just straight up odd, rude, off-putting and offensive. I'm honestly still dumbfounded by his behavior. I hope this saves others from wasting their money and time. People certainly don't choose these types of restaurants to be treated so rudely and walk away upset, underwhelmed with their meal and feeling like they threw away their hard earned money. I'd love to hear from Vladimir, and not the manager posing as the owner with a condescending or argumentative response. I would like to add that our server was absolutely wonderful. And the cocktail was enjoyable. I read this quote while reading and researching this restaurant. And I assure you, with this gentleman there, this quote does not hold up.
